A better day

Good morning, We finally have a bit of good news to share, Tanner is feeling a bit better. Chemo is done and he is off all pain meds. Still on nausea meds but I would be too. As my sweet husband explained, we have had a few VERY hard days. It was truly the scariest day of my life on Thursday. Tanner was retaining fluids and it was affecting his lungs, then he wasn't getting enough oxygen, with hallucinations and a bit sassy. The doctors worked the whole day to keep him out if the ICU. Shayna and Shawn came down as we gave Tanner a blessing. What peace that brings to a place of worry and confusion. Our nurses are always fantastic and give the best care, we are so grateful for them. So now we continue to pray for the chemo to be a success, we won't know for maybe two weeks. We need a miracle! Thank you so much for your prayers and messages of love, we feel sustained and lifted to endure another day because of you. Kristi

  2. I am so glad to hear of the positive turn! Guess that means Tanner is up for some elementary humor.... I was on the playground the other day and a first grader was just walking around saying out loud, don't bother making wishes they just don't come true. I asked him what he was wishing for and gave some examples of how wishes can come true. I said if you are wishing for a million dollars tomorrow that probably isn't going to happen. He said I have $124.00 why would I need a million. Guess that means we still need to work on money sense at school :). I am a firm believer in wishes coming true - they are miracles and they happen all around us. You are all in my prayers. Keep fighting little warrior.

  3. So glad to hear that things are going a bit better today. As I go through my ho drum days, I always seem to find time to think of Tanner and the family. The kids always include you in their prayers, as do we. We love all of you. We pray for all of you. If we could give you hope and comfort in a bottle, we would send it your way. You guys have experienced a lot...and it is not over. Just know that we are here for you if there is anything we could do. Keep fighting! We love you!
