Here we go...Again.

Over the last few days, Tanner had more tests done to see if the last Chemo treatment worked in killing the Cancer Cells. Mom and Tanner found out this morning that the treatment did not work. Tanner will undergo yet another round of Chemo. They will start tonight (I think). This one will last 6 days, and he will have to stay in the hospital for at least 6 weeks. (Tanner says that "We'll See...") Mom said he is so Strong and Positive about everything. (I told her that one of us had to be...)

At this time we could use more prayers than ever!

Also Tanner checks this blog a lot, please leave any words of Love, encouragement, etc...They really help us pull through this hard time. We love you all!

  4. Hi Tanner! I saw your dad tonight at Kim's viewing and asked how things were and he said so-so but didn't elaborate. Now I know why he said what he did. How neat of him to be there to honor Kim and give his condolences and not dwell on his own worries. That's what I love about your family. You all are so awesome and an inspiration to me. Take each day one day at a time. Tanner...stay strong and close to our Savior. We will continue to pray for you. I look forward to coming and playing vampire and playing kick-the-tennis-ball with Mandy soon! Carol

  5. Tanner and Kristi,

I think of you guys every day, ever since I received Tanner's story for the book I made to take to DC. We don't know each other, but I wanted to let you know that my family is keeping you in our thoughts and prayers...daily! Tanner, you are amazing and a hero in our eyes!

  6. I am so sorry that the last round of chemo didn't work. You guys are such a strong example to me. We don't know why things work out the way they do, but each trial will come with specific blessings that will far outweigh the trial. I know that is true! You continue to amaze me by your strength and testimonies. We love you.

  7. Tanner. You don't know me and I only know you through your awesome mother and this blog. But I have to tell you...you are seriously one amazing young man! You have endured so very much (and continue to endure so much). Our Father in Heaven loves you Tanner! I hope you never doubt this. He has "blessed" you with these trials not only for you to learn but for us to learn through you! I thank you for that. I know that a small thank you will never mean enough for what you are going through. But if you think about the wide vast of peoples lives you are touching and making an impression on. Man...it's huge! I bring your story home to my family as I am sure others do as well. And it grows from there! You are an inspiration!!! stay strong Tanner. There are so many prayers being said on your behalf! Thank you for all you do and all you endure!!! Remember you are a choice son of God!!

  8. Tanner, You don't know me, but our family knows you. We follow your blog each day and are amazed at your positive attitude and tenacity. Our 17 year old daughter, Rachel Steele, was diagnosed last June with AML. They had a hard time getting her into remission, but were finally successful. She had her transplant in November and is recovering at home.

We are so sorry that you are having to endure more chemo. We will continue to pray for complete remission so that you can move forward with your transplant. One quote from Elder Holland sits in my kitchen window. It has brought me comfort over the last 10 months. "...Heaven's kindness will never depart from you, regardless of what happens...Bad days come to an end, faith always triumphs, and heavenly promises are always kept." Please know that so many people are behind you and praying for you. Heavenly Father is very much aware of you and your family. Stay strong--forever strong!
