the latest

sorry its been a while since my last update... no worries though you didnt really miss much. same old waiting game, blood counts are still zero but we are still a week or ten days from really worrying about that. however despite all that the spirits remain high for the most part thanks to family and friends. which leads to real reson im updating is to thank all the visitors ive had over the days and especially yesterday! the daytime was fantastic! i think a ate every meal and munchies in between. our amazing social worker brought a stocking filled with some pretty cool stuff, she asked if i was a ute fan and i told her i can be if i need to... after a laugh she pulled out a football autographed by 5 or 6 ute football players! other things inside included a couple hats,(no suprise, there seems to be a never ending abundance here), some nice headphones, followed by a brand new ipod with an itunes card attached! pretty cool. i had quite a few visitors that i think had to be the highlight of the last month or so. you all know who you are and i cant thank you enough.

i also hear the neighbors and ward are doing a pretty good job of taking care of the fam at home. it really means alot. this isnt just about me, its a group effort here and believe me that isnt going unnoticed.

as for how im feeling... like i said yesterday was probably the best day of this stretch. i went most the day with no anti nausea meds. which also means i was able to get away from my trusty sidekick (the IV pole) for most of the day. i also was able to walk around for a solid half an hour or so. im still confined to the room so all that consisted of was pacing to the door, then to the window, and back. none the less thats the most ive been out of bed in a month. overnight things took a turn for the worse, the nurse woke me up to chills and a fever. after a dose of tylenol and about 4 hours i finally got some sleep. today has been about the same, "flirting with fevers" as the doctor says. they started a new antibiotic, they say side effects should be minimal, but they are possible. so i guess all you can do is hope for the best and expect the worst.

overall i would still say things are going pretty good concidering what it could be. i was told yesterday that i am one of 2 patients that have rebounded this well in a long time. taking it for what it is, it again was a bright spot in my day yesterday.
